Let me tell you, stress is something that impacts us all in differently and while it’s a normal part of life and can be a useful motivator to help us achieve our goals, it can be harmful too. Stressing out too much can seriously affect our physical and mental health. That’s why it’s so important learn how to balance it and create a more stress-free lifestyle. 

8 Simple Tips for a Stress-Free Lifestyle

When we don’t take the time to manage our stress levels, it can lead to a variety of physical and mental health issues. It can also lead to problems in our relationships and our work. When I was neck deep in building a house, I started to get pains in my chest. At first I had no idea what to attribute it to, but then a friend clued me in–stress was causing me anxiety and actual physical ailments! In fact, some of the physical and mental side effects of stress include: insomnia, headaches, anxiety, depression, and digestive problems. Yep, sounds familiar. Stress can also increase our risk of developing serious conditions such as heart disease and stroke, and that’s scary stuff.

Having a stress-free lifestyle isn’t just about avoiding negative physical and mental health effects. It can also help us to be more productive and successful. We can be more focused and creative by managing our stress levels and relaxing. We also have more energy and enthusiasm to pursue our goals.

1. Set realistic goals and expectations for yourself

Setting realistic goals and expectations in your life can help keep stress levels low and give you a sense of accomplishment.   • Get rid of hectic schedules

  • Maintain a healthy work-life balance
  • Distance yourself from toxic people
  • Go on a short walk every day
