To start, pick two random from both stacks. Put them together (light and dark), and draw a line using the creative grids 158243; seam guide on each side diagonally. Stitch directly on the drawn line, then cut right into the center line. Make a total of 42 half-square triangles, then press the seams open. Once you have 42 half-square triangles, put two squares where the seams are in the same direction (trying to alternate the dark and the light), find the center, and ensure your seams are lined up. Secure with a pin on the center, then draw a line and sew.
After sewing, cut in the center, then press open. Make 42 of these hourglass units. Once you have all 42, trim them up to 8 & 1/28243; square. Next, put two units, right sides together. Make sure your seams touch exactly. Pin to secure, then sew.
