I may sound Country for saying this, but my favorite food has always been Chicken and Dumplings! I also love cooking anything in the crockpot, why I had never thought of making my favorite dish, Chicken and Dumplings, in the crockpot is understandable I guess, but I did not even think of it. I saw a recipe for crockpot Chicken and Dumplings on Youtube and had to try it, after all, I love all chicken recipes and I also love my crockpot so it was an obvious match made in Heaven for me. So this is the thing, you can learn how to make chicken and dumplings in a crockpot in 20 minutes with just a few ingredients using canned biscuits for the dumplings. The other great thing is dumplings are supposed to stay fluffy inside, and the crockpot actually steams them perfectly fluffy and succulent! This recipe couldn8217;t be easier, I just threw all these ingredients into the crockpot, (no pre-cooking necessary). I started by adding all my ingredients to the crockpot. I was so super excited to try this recipe, I couldn8217;t wait to get my ingredients together!
- 1 Large Onion (chopped)
- 3 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
- 1 Teaspoon Oregano
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Can Of Cream Of Chicken (or Cream Of Mushroom) Soup
- 1 Cup Chicken Broth
- 1 Sprig Of Thyme
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1 Cup Carrots
- 1 Cup Peas
- 1 Cup Celery
- 1 Can Of Pilsbury Grands Biscuits
Add the chicken back to the crockpot and then add the celery, carrots, peas, and top with biscuits and cook for 1 more hour
This recipe is so delicious and even if you don8217;t cook much at all you can easily pull this easy dish off. If you love to cook like me, I promise, this recipe will not disappoint, especially when you realize how much time you saved. Add your own homemade biscuits to the top instead of canned, if you insist, either way, this country cooking recipe is super yummy.
